Reading Strategies

As good readers we all use reading strategies to improve our reading skills and our reading comprehension. The most important part of reading is to understand what you are reading, and that is why we use reading strategies. It makes reading more enjoyable and a lot more fun when you connect to what you are reading and give a shout out to others about the great book you are reading. Please tell us about your favorite reading strategy or strategies that you use when you are reading and why you like them. Be sure to write four to five complete sentences with the correct punctuation and capitalization.

  1. One of my reading strategies is to write down lines that stand out in the book. The reason I like it is that can make you think instead of just reading.I also like to think did this ever happen to me.I like that one because some times we just look over and miss something but with that strategy we take our time and then we can't miss anything.

  2. 1 of my reading strategies is to see what my character has in common with me. Read slower to understand my book and what the character is trying to accomplish or face. See my characters inside and outside. If i forgot something in the book i should go back to that page and reread what i have already read. I should also take notes if i find something intresting that i could put in my book one day.
