Panda Path

Today we had the most rewarding experience. We visited the Panda Path Pre-K students at the Spring Branch Family Development Center. We brought books to read and donate. Please describe your experience. You may write about what you enjoyed most and what was challenging. How did it feel to give away the gift of a book? Did you learn anything about your buddy? Would you like to return? Please write four to five complete sentences using the correct punctuation.

  3. They were A M A Z I N G <3. I loved that they were so well behaved and friendly. Even though they were kind of shy it was fun to read to Pre Kindergarteners! On a scale to 1 to 100 i would rate this trip 101. Yep i said it right there. 101. I also loved that they were funny because i thought they would be as shy as a turtle in its shell but they sometimes communicated with me or told me their name. I really hope they did not get bored or confused because i wanted to make a good time for them and not only myself. I was happy to donate 30 books to Panda Path. *Back to the point* It was good donating because i know that they need it a lot more then i do because they cant afford a book. One of the most important part that i love Panda Path because they give a opurtunity to kids that do not have a lot of money to afford books, food, education, or a doctor. their is so much more that i cant even imagine. Enjoyed they trip and hope you did too! ADIDOS!

  4. Sam and I had a buddy named Naian his favorite color was blue. My first buddy took home a book called Socks On Fox. The challenging part was that most of them didn't speak English so they did not talk often. I enjoyed giving my books away to them and I would love to go again.

  6. I thought that the kids there were nice and well behaved. I felt bad for those kids, because they had to learn a new language. It is hard for us to learn english so I bet it is very hard for them to learn english, because they are much younger than us. My buddy liked to goof off and play. I loved to play with some one who might not have as much stuff as us.

  7. When I was reading to them I felt sorry for them because there families could not afford a lot of extras. The kids were so CUTE. It felt so good when I gave them the book. I would LOVE to go back. My first buddy did not tell me anything about him self but my second buddy told me his name but unfortunately it was so long that I can't remember it.

  8. I loved Panda Path! It gave me this warm feeling inside. My first buddy was Conner. He knew English and loved the color red. My second buddy did not know English very well , but I read The Adventures of Louis the Worm. He liked the book a lot so I gave it to him. I asked him his name but I he did not speak English. I also had my book Little Pea and I didn't want to give it up, but I did. "So I leave it behind me in the past." Haley Diane Wainright.

  10. I like panda path was SOOOOO FUN! One of the little boys took the book Go away big green monster. I could tell he wanted that book a lot because he tried to read it on his own and when it was closer to someone else he would take it. My other buddy a little girl took the book Sofia the first floating palace I think she was super cute! It was funny because when I was reading to her she was watching Ross reading to his buddy once i read the page then she said Oh No he like up her up after I read that.

  12. This was a unforgettable experience and I would have stayed way longer if I was aloud to. It was really fun to interact with kids that do not speak fluent English like us. It was awesome because we learned Spanish and they learned English. When one of my buddies turned away my other buddy would slap her in the head and tell her to pay attention. All my buddies were shy but really excited. I loved Panda Path and would go back any time.

  13. One of my challenges was that one of my buddy was crying most of the time I still liked it though. All of my buddies were shy. I had brought stuffed animals to give to there teachers so they could play with them. But they wanted to take them. they didn't get that I was just giving them to there teacher.

  15. Going to Panda Path was so much fun! I had really nice buddies. My first buddy spoke mostly Spanish, so I tried to read my book slowly so that she could process the words better. I read her Curious George Goes to the Chocolate Shop, but she ended up choosing a different book. In the next group, I had three buddies. They all had different personalities. The first one was named Madison. She was the most outgoing partner. She spoke English very well and talked a lot. I learned that she had a two year old brother named Romeo, and she was five years old.The other buddies did not talk as much. One of them was named Emily. She was very curious. She looked around the room, probably wondering, "Who are all these people?". My third buddy was really quiet. She did not speak a lot of English. She also seemed a bit alarmed by me. I tried to comfort her, and she seemed to calm down. There was one book all of my buddies loved. It was called Stephanie's Ponytail. Madison decided that she wanted that book. Emily grabbed the book titled, Just My Friend and Me. My third buddy looked around and decided Peanut and Pearl's Picnic Adventure was the book for her. I loved going to Panda Path. It felt amazing to be able to help someone in need.

  16. I liked going to Panda Path because it felt good to give away books to kids who don't have many. It was hard to read to them when they speak Spanish and did not understand much. Going to Panda Path was fun.
