  1. I loved CAFE it was so fun. I love the part when eathen, aiden and patrick. I learned that they have red envolopes with money in them and that if your money adds up to odd numbers or 4 and 14 that means bad luck. I can not wait for the next CAFE meeting❗️πŸ˜„

  2. My favorite part of C.A.F.E was learning about the Chinese zodiac. I am the year of the pig. I never knew that the Chinese people celebrated Chinese New Year for 16 days! I wonder why there are certain animals and only 12 of them? The Chinese always clean out their house to get rid of all the bad luck from the last year. If you eat noodles while you are celebrating Chinese New Year, don't cut them because long noodles mean that you will live a longer life. You should wear red on Chinese New Year. It is considered a sign good luck but, don't wear black it is a sign of death. Over all the Chinese people are very fun to celebrate with. Thank you Aiden, Ethan and Patrick for telling us about this awesome celebration.

  6. I learned that people sweep their houses to make sure that bad spirits don't stay in them. People give envelopes with money in them but they do not give uneven amounts of money. Don't wear black on Chinese new year because it is the color of death. Fish, spring rolls, dumplings, fruit, sweet rice balls, long noodles and rice cakes are good luck foods. I love CAFE and can't wait for next week's meeting!πŸ˜€πŸ’•

  7. I loved learning about Chinese new year. Each year is named after a different animal from the Chinese zodiac. For example, I am a rat because I was born on April 26, 2008. You give people money on Chinese new year in red envelopes, but if you give them a 4 dollar bill it is bad luck, if you also give them odd numbers of money that is bad luck. Every even number is good luck besides 4. The Chinese people decorate their homes with Mandarin trees to celebrate.πŸ€

  8. C.A.F.E. was really fun!!! We learned about Chinese New Year, also called Lunar New Year. I have BK (background knowledge) that it is good to wear red because it brings good luck and keeps away bad luck. The grown ups give out red envelopes with money in them to the children to wish the children good luck and a happy new year. I was born on the year of the rat and so was my mother and my grandmother. My father and uncle were born in the year of the rooster and my sister was born in the year of the tiger. The tiger is actually her favorite animal🐯. I am half Vietnamese and we also celebrate Lunar New Year but watching Dragon dance, Lion dance and fire crackers. I think Aiden, Ethan and Patric did a REALLY GREAT job today!!!
