Panda Path

This week, we visited the Panda Path pre-k students at the Spring Branch Family Development Center. We brought books to read and donate. Please describe your experience. You may write about what you enjoyed and what was challenging. How did it feel to give away the gift of a book? Did you learn anything about your buddy? Would you like to return? Please write four to five complete sentences using the correct punctuation.

  2. I really loved Panda Path Preschool. The whole time I felt really happy that I was doing this for the little kids. Both of my buddies were very quiet at the beginning but then as I started to read to them and ask them questions they began to speak up. My first buddy who I think is named Aliya was obsessed with pink. She had pink pants a pink shirt and pink buttons in her hair. My second buddy liked all the books I had and he was so smart he knew every color that I showed him. I would love to go back there another time and read to some more little children.

  4. I had an excellent experience with the Panda Path students! It really melted my heart to see the books of my early childhood go away, but since I knew I was helping somebody else,I was happy to see them go.
It was a little challenging because I only brought one book that was translated into Spanish, and we had two partners, each at a different time, my first partner took the book that was translated, and my second
buddy spoke fluently Spanish. She didn't understand a word I was saying. Yay.

  8. I think it was good to give books away to little kids. I felt good to see the look on their faces when they got a book. They must of felt shy becaues they would not say anything to me. I would like to go back and see the look on their faces again!!!

  9. I had a very good time. The books that they chose were: Wild Flaps, (a pop-up book) ,and Jack and the Beanstalk. I was pretty sad to see the books of my childhood go, but, knowing that it was all for a good cause, I gave them away. My second partner copied everything I did, so that was pretty funny. Also, he spoke very fluent Spanish, and no English, and he liked my big math book, which was probably a little too advanced for him. It was a challenge getting them to understand me, but I liked doing it.

  16. I think Panda Paths was really fun and all the little kids were cute. Most of the children didn't talk very much but my buddy talked a lot but not in a bad way. One of my buddies name was Brandon. The book that I gave him was a Clifford book and he said thank you very much. I thought the place was really cool for a Pre-K center. I want to go back and read to more kids. I read to them a Dotty book, a Clifford book, Ten little Bees and Put me in the zoo. And Brandon gave me a card that said thank you very much. When I put the books on the cart to donate it felt really good help the little kids.
