  1. My favorite place was the blacksmith. I like the blacksmith because you can see the iron when it is really hot and see the orange on the nail. Also I liked the wood cutters. I liked them because they it was really cool to watch because you could see them do the work. Now people work on the stuff we buy some where else.

  2. These are some things I liked...
My favorite part was when we went to the cottage. The cottage was so small! The parents got a bed and then the children got a bed that had a ladder to it but wasn't a bunk bed so when you walk in right above you is a little platform and to get to that platform there was this ladder. All the kids had to sleep up there and there are some parents have a lot of kids. All the kids are cramped up in there and sometimes they fall out but they get used to it. So all the younger kids and the older kids sleep up there but the baby has a cradle. The house that we went in had a stove! The place was really small. Did you know that even on a rainy day the bathroom was outside so it doesn't stink up the house?

And those are some stuff I liked and thought were interesting on the field trip!!

    5. Interesting! I say uncomfortable. Mia P. I agree bathrooms outside horrible. but I bet 10-12 kids sense that is how many they had.

  3. My favorite part was the log cabin. I never knew that ten kids could sleep on the top wood bunk. They had to get their water out of the well and I liked pumping the well. They had to go to the bathroom out in the woods, I can't imagine not having a bathroom! I also liked the songs they played for us.

  9. My favorite part at Jesse Jones Park was when they were baking the molasses cookies. It was cool that they were using the mud oven. I also thought the blacksmith shop was awesome. I think it is interesting that they can make nails so fast. The woodshop was cool too because they cut down real trees and made it into furniture and nice things. I can't believe they only had three pairs of clothes and I can't believe they had 10-11 brothers and sisters that all slept in one bunk! I think it might have been hard but fun to live back then. 11. My favorite part was the Blacksmith. I wish I could be a Blacksmith. I learned that the Pioneers only went to town once. It took one day to get there and one to get back. They spent one day in town so it would be three days until they got back. I also learned that a good black smith could make 1,000 nails in one day. I am going to share a few more facts with you. 1.In the house there is one crib for the baby, one bed for the mom and dad and one bed for all the kids. 2.There are usually 12 kids per family. 3.the kids help with the chores. And 4.Men only kill the animals for two reasons. 1.there skin 2.to eat. I hope you have learned a lot today!

  13. My favorite part was when we got to go too the blacksmith and when we pumped water. I didn't know that all the kids had to sleep on a little ledge thing and that there were a lest 10-12 kids up there. Also I learned that kids sleep in there clothes so they can get to work at 4:00 am. Did you know that a good blacksmith could make 1,000 nails a day. And if you hit steel and flint together they can make a spark. That's a little bit about what I learned. Bye!

  14. My favorite part was when we got to go to the person who works with leather. He showed how to tan leather and braid it. I also liked the place where that person fired the gun. If I were a child on a homestead like that I would be really tired at the end of the day. Bye!

  17. I am going to tell you about my favorite facts and my favorite part of the field trip. My two favorite facts is that all of their kids have to sleep in the same bed. (Actually, more like on the ground) My other fact is that black smiths use only iron. My favorite part was when we learned how to make an arrow.

  18. My favorite part was the black smith it was cool to see them make stuff. A good black smith can make 1000 nails in one day! They made cookies out of mollaes. Boys got up early to get water. And uasel 10 people sleep in one cabin.

  19. My favorite part was the hunters, because they didn't kill the animals for the food but they killed them for their fur and to keep their chickens alive. I can not sleep in one bed with 10 other kids and not fall off. They cook everything in a oven that was made mud and dirt. The kids did most of farming. Could you have done all of that?
