International Fair

I had a wonderful time in China and Argentina! As Rivers and Julia commented to me at separate times, "They really went all out!"

Please tell us any new learning from either one of these experiences! Also, please share any activities or foods that you particularly enjoyed.   Tell us what you liked best about each country. Please write at least four to five complete sentences.

  1. I learned that in Argentina that graffiti is not illegal. In fact it is almost like you are supposed to do it. Also I learned that the worlds 1/5 of the population is Chinese and that they only permit you to have one child. I didn't know that there was a cave in Argentina that had hand prints all over it. After all that I had so much fun and I hope that next years international fair is just as good as this years.

  9. My experience at international fair was AMAZING! My personal favorite country would probably be Argentina, but China was an inch away!!!! My class and I experienced new foods, new dances and movements, many different places that I knew nothing about, and many other great things. I loved the "Cueva de las Manos." It has a great story that needs to be told. Back then, people did not have an alphabet, a pencil, and a piece of paper to write or draw on. Nor did they have a real language! The language they had was more like opladoj bla yer. But inside there body they wanted to express themselves, and somehow tell a friend there life story. Since they lived in a cave, the people started crushing up things like: beetles, berries, and many other things. When they where done, they started to draw things like animals on the caves walls! and from then on Argentina created a language! Thats my experience at Argentina. Now lets travel almost half-way around the world to China! Here is a fun fact toy that I learned on my trip... Did you now that the great wall of China is more than 5,500 miles long !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Also did you know that the Chinese language does not have letters, but it has characters. Thats my experience at international fair!!

  12. Well I learned that China has a big dessert and they have a lot of sand storms so sand gets in the air and it is not good for them. I also learned that China believes in zodiac spirits and that they like red because they think it believes in peace and they love dragons because they believe that the dragon is a symbol of bravery. They also drink green tea. They also made the great wall of china. It is gigantic and I am talking about 5,000 miles long Wow! It was made to keep bad people out. Also they they wear a lot of robes I don't know why. And 1\5 of the worlds population lives in China and you can only have one baby because they want to decrease the population. Plus if you have two baby's you have to pay a lot of taxes and this is really sad if parents have two children sometimes they give away one of children and most of the time they give away the girl. If they have two boys I don't know what happens. They either pay a lot of taxes or give one of there kids away. I would pay a of taxes. Time to learn about Argentina. They have a big glacier in Argentina. Argentina has super clean air. In Argentina they have really cool paintings and stuff. Thats why a lot people like to visit there. And Argentina is really cold and it is the end of the world. And China's new year is coming up . And when the new year is coming they clean there house because they think it wipes away the bad spirits and make the good spirits come in and they start all over. Well thats my international fair.

  16. Both places were great.China was my favorite because they had the great wall of china, and we did a little dance to the chinese new year with dragon heads on our heads. We also had chinese tea and egg rolls. And we did chinese bingo which was pretty easy, then we painted one of our 4 core values. Then when we were done with china and sense it was so close to he chinese new year the adults there put on a little firework show. and that is why china is my favorite. Now here is why Argentina is my second favorite. In Argentina they had a little make your own wristband with our initials on them.then we went to a cave were we stuck our hand in paint and rubbed it on a wall just like cave men did. Then we went skying on fake snow with a jacket and poles. When we were done skying all of the fake snow was stuck in my shoe. Then we went to the cafe were we tried the Argentina tea which was good, and we tried some tipe of caramel on a spoon, then we tried a cookie with the same caramel.I International was great!!!!!!
