A Season for Giving!!!
This morning on KLS, Mrs. Babine talked about how sometimes in life it is the small things you do for others that count. Writing a letter to your grandmother, holding the door for your parents on your way in to a restaurant, making a homemade present for a friend—these are all small things that mean A LOT. With the holiday season coming up, what are some small things you can do for others? Write at least 3 complete sentences. Be very thoughtful about what you write.

The Mystery of the Mary Celeste
Today we finished our reading workshop lesson book titled The Mary Celeste: An Unsolved Mystery from History. We discussed how our brain asks us questions while we read and how sometimes our questions don't get answered. In the case of The Mary Celeste, a BIG lingering question is—what happened to the crew? In four to five sentences or more, explain your theory about what happened to the crew of the ship. Be sure to to watch this video. It is less than two minutes. Back up your theory with evidence from the book and let's see what you can come up with! Do not be silly and check your work.

We rock!!! Tell us your favorite strategies and how you have used them in the class or at home. It is great that we are becoming active thinkers and questioners as we read.

Pet Peeves
A pet peeve is when someone, something, or and action is done that really irritates you. Pet Peeves can be very different for everybody.
