  2. I wonder why people wanted to stay if Oregon was so great? I also wondered how a wagon could be turned into a boat? How could oxen pull a wagon with so much stuff in it?

  3. I wonder how could the wagon carry stuff if it was not that stable? How could they fit all their belongings in there? Did the pioneers not know how to swim because it said that some drowned along the way? How many years would it take to walk or ride a horse to Oregon? It said that some of the ox died of exhaustion on the way!

  4. I wonder why some people use horses and mules instead of oxs because oxs are stronger animals. I wonder why people didn't go on boats I think boats would be safer because there are no animals that could kill you. Why did they have to have so many guns and ammo.

  5. I did not know that most of the time oxen pulled wagons. I thought only horses did. How do the oxen pull wagons across water? Wagons must be twice as heavy in a river. I wonder what would have happened if the English got to Oregon first. Oregon would not be part of America, so we would only have 49 states. I did not think about the fact that there could be weather issues. Monsoons, storms, and tornadoes were all possible weather statements. Going through the Oregon trail must have been dangerous.

  16. The trail is interesting lots of things happen on it and it’s a very long way. The families made big decisions to travel that far and might have encountered danger. People got sick and died on the trail. The trail riders were robbed.they carried all their own food.

  17. My pioneer name is Eliza Johnson. I wonder how many people drowned? I learned that about 400 people were killed just from Indians. Another thing I learned was that oxen were the best animals to pull a wagon because they are strong and can travel really long distances. Lots of people go like farmers, criminals, shoemakers, and lots more! It is really weird how people back then would just throw some of there stuff out of there wagon instead of just keeping it.
