  1. I liked how they showed us the the different kind of interments and my favorite made a hi pitched nose. It kind of looked like a guitar. Why did they use a raccoon skin for a hat? It is a good fit for their head and it is soft material that keeps them warm. Brrrrrrrrrr!!!!

  2. I liked that they gave us "Shavings." (Little pieces of what Pioneers would make a hammer out of.) And that farms were about a mile away from their house, so farmers would not go back to the house for very many things. Main thing is I liked it a lot.

  4. I liked pumping the water pump. It's amazing that blacksmiths made a fortune out of nails. My favorite fact is that pioneers used corn cobs to wipe. That was really fun over all. It was my favorite field trip!!!

  9. My favorite part about the field trip was the beautiful music. I loved the way it sounded! If I were a pioneer, my favorite instrument to play would be the Drum or Guitar. I never knew that children would play games to get them ready for knife carving, shooting, and shooting bow and arrows. This would build up your arm strength and leg strength. The tools they used were very cool too. All of the wood there was so pretty! Life back then was very hard for the pioneers but some managed through it. I can't wait until Pioneer Day and I am loving studying them.

  10. My favorite part was when we got to play tug of war agains the adults. I learned that if your last name is smith that when you grow you you would likely be a black smith, a silver smith or another kind of smith. So, your last name explained your job. They used old corn husks to brush their teeth. They could make a living selling nails for ten cents each. I loved learning bout the pioneers and had a great time on the field trip.

  11. My favorite part was when we learned about the black smith. And that if your last name was smith someone in your family was a smith like a blacksmith. I also liked when we learned about the hunter/trapper how many animals he killed but the farmer got to kill the sheep.I didn't know that the bongo cost a lot of money and that they had a instrument that looked like a peanut.:D

  12. My favorite part was learning about all the furs and how it depends on how common the animal is to know the exact value of the fur. I also liked the part when we went to the blacksmiths. There I learned that blacksmiths are called blacksmiths because they work and use a iron that is black. I don't quite remember what it's called though. Then we learned about some of the wood Pioneers used. the tools they used for the wood was so cool!:)

  13. My favorite part about the field trip is when a man shot a musket! It was much quieter than I anticipated. I also liked when we got to see the Hunter Trapper's skins that he had "hunted". I also learned that the reason that blacksmiths are called blacksmiths is because they work with black metal. And a popular last name for blacksmiths is Smith.

  14. My favorite part was when we played tug of war with adults. I wonder how they came up with the idea to tug a war. I learned that there were other smiths other than blacksmiths. the smiths that I remembered was, sword smith, gunsmith and wood smith. What I enjoyed the most was when the blacksmiths taught us how to make needles.

I liked when we saw the instruments and the apple thing that the guy David was playing. I liked the walk over to the park. It was fun. I thought I saw an animal but it was just a kid throwing a stick. I also liked learning about the blacksmiths and the wood place.
