We are just beginning our Westward Expansion unit! We know the pioneers were traveling in hopes of cheap and fertile land in Oregon!

I wonder how they knew of Origin and California. And why do they bring criminals. And I never knew there was a dropping off spot. Like Independince Masserie.
ReplyDeleteWhat I learned was like how hard it is to set up and to get there. It takes 5 in a half months just to get to Oregon. It was also super dangerous crossing rivers and just diseases too. But when the immigrants forced the native americans of their land I mean that's just strait up Mean.
ReplyDeleteI wonder if the chest they talked about had anything special in it? And how do the know where Oregen is? My NL is that they gave dissises to the natives.And my last wonder is what happend to the native amaricans???
ReplyDeleteI wonder how the Indians and people riding the wagons talked to each other. And I also wonder how much stuff can they bring with them in the wagon. I wonder if the adults rode in the wagons or if the kids rode in the wagons too
ReplyDeleteI wonder how many people died on the Oregon Trail while they were traveling west. I also wonder how they found the indians for trading or did the indians find them. I feel sorrow that barely anybody made it.
ReplyDeleteI wonder how the immigrants talked to the indians? I learned that crossing rivers is VERY VERY hard. I wonder how many people go to Oregon at once by that I mean how many people travel to Oregon at once?
ReplyDeleteI learned that there is also a California trail and a New Mexico trail from Mrs O'Connell and Ms. Papadaks. I wonder how many people died on the Oregon Trail??? I also wonder if people died from the terrible storms??? I also learned that it took 5 in a half to 6 months to get to just Oregon!!! I am really exited about learning about the Oregon trail and up west!!!!

the people on the oragan trail. Now I'm glad that is all gone. And why they wanted to move?
I'm wonder what the kids did on river crossing. And if they some times leave wagons behind or people.our if wile they are sleeping a snake bits them. did they died by starving our of no water.

ReplyDeleteI learned that on the Oregon Trail you can get very bad diseases. I also learned that there was a leader who lead and helped the people on the Oregon Trail. The kids helped their parents on the trail. I wonder how many people died during their trip to Oregon.

ReplyDeleteI wonder if the kids like to go on the trip because it was a lot of walking I would not like it at all. It would be tired out for most of it. I learned that they would walk 20 miles a day I would not like to do that at all. I also learned that they did not have to go to Oregon they could go to uther places too.
ReplyDeleteI learned that some Indians were nice and some were not.And I also learned the their is many bad Diseases on the trail.And I learned a that some people wanted to go to Oregon to get cheap farm land.I learned that crossing a river in a wagon was very hard and very risky.

DeleteI learned that the covered wagons have two large wheels and two short wheels to make sharp turns. I found out that a single bison could last two months. And there where forts along he way of the Oregon trail.
ReplyDeleteI learned that you could get really sick and die. And there was Indians along the way that could light your wagon on fire. And there was two small wheels in the front and two big ones in the back. I wonder if people died in wild fires.
ReplyDeleteI didn't know that the pioneers walked for 5-6 months. I did not know that they water proofed their wagons. I wonder if they had other weapons besides guns and knifes? I wonder what kinds of games the little ones played?
