Math Groups
We are really enjoying our math rotations/math groups! Please share what you like about them so far. Do you have a favorite station? Do you have a favorite game? WHY do you like it? What are some great strategies you like to use during problem solving? Share with me your favorite parts of math groups! Please write four to five complete sentences. Make sure you use the correct capitalization and punctuation.
I like the games like first to zero and pig.I like it because it is fun math.I love using partial sums method.I love the IXL to❤️.
ReplyDeleteI really like graham in my group because we really like to play games together and challenge each other with math problems. My favorite game must have been roll to one hundred because i got really lucky and i never rolled a zero, but Graham almost rolled a zero every single time. Bad luck Graham. My strategies that i use is like this Bilge has 93 pets. Rawr has 73 pets. How many more pets does Bilge have then Rawr. I would minus 93 and 73 and say 23 more. Probaly a lot of other people in are class uses that stratagie. Also another stratagie i use is lets say this 85 -76 all you have to do is count up from 76 to 85. Which equals 11. I really like math groups because you can stay with your friends and play games and they are fun. They are fun but at the same time they are teaching you something. Tricky,Tricky teachers…Anyways math groups is also fun because someone in your group can teach you something and then you will have more knowledge about whatever the subject they told you about. And i really like the Mrs. O'connell learning with me. My favorite station there was the one that you had to use three numbers and try and make one thousand. Graham was really good at it he got nine hundred and ninety seven. SO CLOSEEE! That is what i loves much about math groups and stations and my strategies. P.S Dear Classmates, Please do not say anything at school about my mom writing my blogs. Because that is not true i write all of them. If you are not budging please just ask Mrs. O'connell and she will tell you the truth. From, Noah

DeleteMath groups is my favorite part of the day. I think math groups is a grate time to do teamwork and have fun at the same time. I like math groups because you can talk about what you think about the math questions and see if your group thinks your write. There so many fun stations to do but I have to say pig is my favorite so far because it is a big race to get to one hundred. In pig I like to shake my dice five times before I role and then I blow on it just for good luck. I wish there were a game were you could try to roll to five hundred but terror would be stuff like when you roll a twelve you would lose a turn and go back fifty or when you roll a two you get to go again. Math is my favorite part of the day other than p e I like math boxes to because it is a challenge to get them all write. I hope you had fun reading this post
ReplyDeleteI love the game pig. My strategy for pig is if you have a big number only roll once.I rely like pig because you have a challenge to go all the way back to ZERO! I also like ixl because you could also do ixl at home.

DeleteI don't really have a favorite station but if I had to choose one I would definitely choose the games. I love having Alyssa in my group because she doesn't brag and she is very fun to play with. My favorite game ever was pig. I like math boxes because we get to solve number story and make ball park estimates. Its so fun to do math with Mrs. O'Connel as are teacher. She makes everything fun for us.

DeleteI don't have a favorite station. But I love having Olivia on my team because it is really fun having some one you know really well and will not brag and will say good job or grate job. I love math gropes they are sooooooooooooooooooo much fun!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ReplyDeleteI love math groups. I love playing with my group. Even though I usually don't win. My strategy is starting at two ones, and I almost never get a one! I also like to do IXL on the computers. Sometimes it confuses me when I have to do the math in my head. But I love challenging myself. Another thing I like about math groups is doing our journal pages. I love the freedom of talking to our group. This way, I can check to see if my answers make sense,or help a friend understand something. I guess you could say there isn't a station I don't like!

ReplyDeleteMy favorite station is games. I like PIG because I always get zeros. My favorite strategy for math is estimating to see if your answer was right. Math is one of my favorite subjects.

ReplyDeleteThe game at station 3 is my favorite. I like pig the most because its so intense. I like to carry numbers when adding. When subtracting I like using bigger bottom borrow. My favorite part of math groups is learning math, working with my friends and getting better at math.
