  3. Maybe some of the pioneers didn't achieve their goals but most of the pioneer did achieve their goals. I think it was worth it because they got free land and if you were poor and you survived the Oregon Trail you get have a new life. But the bad side of it was the sorrow. The sorrow came from the death of your siblings. The results were really good. Unless some how the sorrow haunted you still.

  4. The good is that they get to move to Oregon. The bad thing is that they have to go throw a lot of suffering. And the good is that they get to make freinds on the trail. The bad things are that some of their freinds leave to go to California to hopefully get rich with gold. The results were good and bad. Because your closest neighbors were at least 5 miles away.

  5. When people moved to Oregon, some people we're happy they moved! And some people wish they stayed i Missouri! I would be SO SO SO mad if I made that whole trip to Oregon just for nothing! You were very lucky if you had made the whole trip to Oregon without dying! Most people died from Carola, Swamp Fever, Food Posing, Scarlett Fever, and a lot of other things! Once they got to Oregon they had huge celebrations! And the neighbors were 3 hours away!

  6. Some Pioneers didn't make it.The sad thing is that the hard part is at the end of the trail. And that means that some people might not make it but all they have to do is cross a river! The sad thing is that the people that died were innocent. And lost their lives because of poor choices and sicknesses. The good thing is that if you made it to Oregon you were free from all the sicknesses and you had a tun of land. But the thing about that is that your closest neighbors lived five miles away!

  7. The work and bravery the pioneers put in to their journey was absolutely worth it! Yeah people died on the way but they knew the trip was going to be hard. And deep down that person knew that his (Or her) family would make it.(Maybe) Once the pioneers got to Oregon they knew it was worth it. Not all pioneers loved their new life but they probably knew they would be famous for making the great journey. So there was at least one good thing for the haters. In the end most all pioneers loved their life. (Even is their neighbors were miles away!) In a way that journey was a life long lesson for the pioneers because they now knew that when you work together great things can happen! Oregon was a beautiful place to be. The pioneers had to work really hard but it all payed of!

  11. A lot of pioneers worked hard but a lot of pioneers died on the six month journey. Most of the pioneers wanted to live in Oregon for a better life, your probably wondering why and I have a answer! In Missouri there were a lot's of sicknesses like Swamp Fever, a lot of pioneers got Swamp Fever and died and in Oregon there were not as many sicknesses! Also because of all the green land and space and you could get property for free! The bad thing was it was a hard six month journey and so many pioneers lost some of their family. Here are some of the reasons pioneers died, River Crossings,Food poisoning, sicknesses and much much more. The point is it was a really tuff journey but the pioneers managed to do it and that is way the pioneers and the Oregon trail is very popular!

  12. A lot of pioneers worked hard and they did chores like washing the dishes, getting the rocks out of the road, and were in charge of the animals. In Missouri there were a lot of sicknesses like scarlet fever, swamp fever, cholera, measles and mumps. They believed in the Manifest Destiny which means they an attitude that it was destiny for them to expand the United States. They had celebrations and a lot of babies were born along the way. They worked hard and they made it to Oregon making the hard trip there all worth it in the end.

  13. A lot of pioneers suffered loss of family members and friends. They also had to do a lot of chores and they got lots of mosquito bites and a lot of other injuries. Some people left for the west because there were so many diseases in the east. But there were diseases on the Oregon Trail like cholera, mountain fever and measles. With all the hardships I think it would be worth making it to Oregon, especially after living in a wagon for six months.

  16. If you were a pioneer and you made it to Oregon, you were a lucky duck because a lot of people died on the way. You would be very happy that you were almost to Oregon but now you are going to go through some tough obstacles, like crossing the Colombia River and going through the Blue Mountains. If I were a pioneer I would not be looking forward to doing those things. Once you were at Oregon, you would live in your wagon until you made a Soddy,[ Which is mud and grass put together], until you made a log cabin. After you were settled, you could do anything you would like on your 1 square mile of land. Most people loved their new home but some didn't! If I were a pioneer, I definitely would!

  17. Pioneers were happy if they made it to Oregon because they had a lot of good farmland. However, the trip to Oregon had many dangers such as native American attacks, river crossings, diseases, bad weather, starvation, and wild animals. Once the Pioneers arrived in Oregon, they would build a soddy on a square mile of land which the government gave them. President James Polk started the program to settle Oregon before any other countries could settle the land.

  18. Yes the pioneer achieved their goals they got to Oregon first so that we own the land. I think it was worth it to some people but not for others. The good thing is that they got 265 acres of land thats bigger than Kinkaid!!! And If my mom did that or dad I would be really mad.
