The Wolf Girls
Were there really wolf girls? Were two girls ages 2 and 8 really raised by wolves? This is a true story, sort of. The two girls were brought to an orphanage in India in 1920. They could not speak. They ran around on all fours and ate raw meat. Joseph Singh, the person who brought the girls to the orphanage, said he found the girls in a wolf den. We have only Mr. Singh's journal as evidence that the girls were found in a wolf den. Some people who saw the girls said they acted like animals, but that's not really proof that the girls were raised by wolves. Did Mr. Singh make it all up? Was it a hoax? Were the girls really raised by wolves? Did they not speak because they had a mental or physical problem? Or were they just abandoned by their family and raised by a kind man and lady? Those are the four most popular theories given. Are any of them right? Nobody knows for sure. It is a mystery still waiting to be solved. Which theory do you like best or do you have your own theory of what happened to the wolf girls of Midnapore, India? Please share your theory with us in three to four well written sentences. Be sure to tell us why you believe in that theory.

mr. Singh lied it was a hoax. And the girls were not raised by wolfs. and he wanted to act like he was a hero but he is not. and they did not have mental problems. And I think the girls were abandoned.
ReplyDeleteSingh lied. It was a hoax because if he told everyone about this a year later it would have given him enough time to make all of it up. And because he married out of his parents will he would need the money to get food and other things. And to get the money he needed to publish his newspaper or whatever he wanted to publish.
ReplyDeleteI think the two girls ran away from there family into the jungle. They probably stayed there until the wolves came. There is one thing that I just don't get, why did the wolves not eat them or take care of them.
ReplyDeleteSingh din't tell the truth, It was all a lie. I think the children just had mental and/or physical issues. I don't think the girls would last a day in that forest. he just wanted money so he said they were feral children and to make donations so he could raise them. I don't think he really cared about
ReplyDeletethe poor things.
I think the girls had mental or physical problems too Ivy.
DeleteI think they got abandoned or lost in the forest from there parents and got raised by wolfs. Because I don't know I'm just a believer
ReplyDeleteI think Singh did not tell the truth. I think he made up that the kids were raised by wolves so he could make money. He did not marry who his parents wanted him to so he lost a lot of his money. He was trying to make money by having people see the kids and make donations so he could be a hero and be rich.
ReplyDeleteI think the wolf raised the girls. And those 6 or 7 years all those diseases?wow!Did the wolf find the girls.Or did the girls find the wolf 1st.
ReplyDeleteSingh was faking his attitude and was lying about being a hero. I think that the girls were abandoned, saw the village and went to it. He used them for donation money to get more money. I think he did not even care if they died.
ReplyDeleteI think Singh was lied. Because he waned to get money. He did not care about the girls. I think they were abandoned by their and raised by a men and a lady. And that is what I think about the wolf girls.
ReplyDeleteI think that the girls were not raised by wolves. They had mental or physical problems. They would get sick from eating all that raw meat and die if they were raised by wolves. I'm pretty sure wolves eat human kids. I think Mr.Singh used the story to become rich and famous. Mr.Singh is probably a bad guy.
ReplyDeleteI think that Mr.Singh made a lot of it up but not all of it.I think it is not possible that they could be raised by wolfs they would be eaten already. I also think that they would of died from eating all that raw meat and barely any water. And that Mr.Singh lied just to become rich and famous.
ReplyDeleteI think the girls were born by humans. Then the wolves stole them
ReplyDeletebecause they thought that the girls are wolf cubs. And then they raised
them as wolves.Or maybe the kids were raised by humans and ran away from home to live with the wolves. They tried to act like wolves.Or Joseph Singh made up the story to get money for the
orphanage and be famous.
I think something totally different. I think that the girls were abandoned on their front porch and went looking like a tiger looking for its prey then they finally found an orphanage and the orphanage managers tamed them to act like wolfs. Then the mom found them and said "You have to keep them we are too poor to afford them I will be checking on you later in life!" And that is what I believe happened.
ReplyDeleteMr.Singh lied. It was a hoax because he didn't get the money from his parents so he lied about them and he got famous and rich.On the third theory he just tried to be the hero getting himself even more richer. That makes him selfish. But his wife doesn't agree with him, and she just wants a happy life without being famous.
ReplyDeleteI think the children were sick. maybe Mr. Singh found them and wanted to make a lot of money. He probably made 3 stories to keep people confused about the children.
ReplyDeleteI think that Mr. Singh made it all up.And it was a hoax! I bet Mr. Singh just wanted money because he lost a lot of money when he did't marry who his parents wanted him to marry. So he let people watch the little girls.there was donation for him so he can get money. But her is my question why didn't Mr. Sigh's wife not do anything about it.

ReplyDeleteI think it was all made up. I think that Mr. Singh wanted the money. I do not think that kids can really be raised for that long of time by wolves in a forest. I think they would die. I think Mr. Singh wanted the money because his parents would not give him money because he didn't marry who they wanted him to marry. He just wanted the money to live on.
ReplyDeleteI agree.
DeleteI agree.
DeleteI think Mr.Singh was being selfish. Because he didn't marry the person his parents wanted him to marry he lost all his money from them. He wanted to make money off the two little girls. He also wanted to be the hero and be the one everyone thought saved the little girls from the wolves.
