I really love how the preacher listed 10 things about Opal's mom. For fun, you can experiment making a top 10 list about your mom, dad or any important person in your life.  Be sure to start with a capital letter and end with a period and number each one. New Learning about Egypt!

We have been learning new information on the amazing country of Egypt! Many of us did not have very much background knowledge on this country! If you would like to look up some information on your own about Egypt hit Egypt.  Here are some more cool facts. Iceland

We have been learning new information on the amazing country of Iceland! Many of us did not have very much background knowledge on this country including Mrs. O'Connell! If you would like to look up some information on your own about Iceland hit Iceland. This is a great video with kids!!!

Happy New Years!!!

It's a new year and time to think about what we want to do differently.  It's a great time to set goals for yourself and resolve to do something new and good.  There is always room for improvement in the coming year for all of us.  What are your New Year resolutions, or promises, that you want to work on in 2019?  Write a least two to three goals and tell us why you chose those particular ones.  For example, I know that I want to continue to exercise, but I want to exercise even more.  Exercise gives me energy and helps me to stay in shape.  I also want to eat healthier because it is good for my body, skin, and my overall health.  Another resolution I want to accomplish is to relax more.  I think relaxing is good for you and it takes away a lot of stress.  My last resolution is to spend lots of time with  my family and friends. They are important to me, so I want to be with them a lot this coming year.  Let's hear yours!!!  Watch out for correct grammar and punctuation!!!! 

Winter Break

It's so exciting! Winter break is near! What are your plans? What are you looking forward to most? Are you traveling or staying in Houston? If you celebrate Christmas, what are some of your family's traditions you look forward to every year? If you celebrate Hanukkah, what are some of your traditions? I can't wait to hear what each of you have planned!

Big Nate

I'm Reading Big Nate double trouble. It is an awesome book because he is hilarious and it is a two in one book.   Big Nate gets detention everyday.  In "Strikes Again," Genia is on Nate's Ben Franklin report and S.P.O.F.F ( Sports played only for fun ).

Time to Check In on Independent Reading

We have not blogged about what we are reading for fun in a long time, and we all know that books can really add a lot of joy to your life! I always like to have a good fiction book around...like a good friend. Lately, I have been reading a book called At the Water's Edge. This book is historical fiction, and it is for enjoyment. Historical fiction is based on historical events and people that are true but the story is fiction. Books can be entertaining and POWERFUL! Please write 4 to 5 sentence about the book you are reading right now. Be sure to the correct capitalization and punctuation.
