They said he had to live like white people. The indian boy did not want to work like white people. He wanted to have his culture in indian. He was treated horribly and the white men were being racist. One time he tried to escape his white man boarding school WHILE IT WAS SNOWING!!! But he got knocked over by all the sow and wind from the blizzard. Some white people who were watched for runaways because the boarding school would pay five dollars to anybody who caught a runaway. For what he did the white people put a heavy ball attached to a chain attached to his ankle for a DAY! When his punishment was done one teacher gives the indian boy some salve to smooth his rash from the chain. Then she tells him to never forget you are indian inside and to never let us take your indian memories.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8688868131360522025.post-13382079654372870112016-12-01T07:17:41.633-08:002016-12-01T07:17:41.633-08:00Cheyenne again is a good book. it is about a india...Cheyenne again is a good book. it is about a indian boy named Young Bull. He had to go to a boarding school, where indians got taken away and had to work for the white people. The themes were he was treated unfairly, he would get sad because he couldn't see his family again because they said that he had to live in a white mans world. One time he even tried to run away from his boarding school IN THE SNOW , but got knocked down and the white people found him lying there and he had to get a steal chain atached to a heavy steal ball and he had to wear that for a WHOLE DAY.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8688868131360522025.post-31624856346718285362016-12-01T05:09:17.735-08:002016-12-01T05:09:17.735-08:00Cheyenne Again is a book about an Indian boy that ...Cheyenne Again is a book about an Indian boy that was taken away from his family and sent to a school to learn the English ways. I think it was very sad that he was treated so unfairly. The English people were very racist and treated him very different. It was horrible that he never got to see his family again.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8688868131360522025.post-67705191301062958852016-11-30T19:10:28.501-08:002016-11-30T19:10:28.501-08:00I think cheyenne again has a deep meaning. I would be scared if someone came to my house and took me away to a place i've never heard of. It was sad because Young Bull had to have a ball and chain around his leg. Young Bull was just really scared the school so he wanted to get away from it. Over all cheyenne again is a really good book.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8688868131360522025.post-23661555564408161172016-11-30T19:01:00.866-08:002016-11-30T19:01:00.866-08:00Cheyenne was a great book. The teachers told him and other kids lies about Native tribes. There were lots of themes but I chose sadness, anger, fear, loneliness, and loss. There was one teacher who actually understood and said "You are always going to keep your culture on the inside. Don't let us take your memories😢Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8688868131360522025.post-498915401109591422016-11-30T18:21:13.327-08:002016-11-30T18:21:13.327-08:00Cheyenne Again was an amazing book although it was...Cheyenne Again was an amazing book although it was kind of sad. The plot is about a Cheyenne boy who was ten years old when he was taken from his family. He was taken to a boarding school. They were teaching him lies and omitted important facts about Native American people. Some of the themes were loss, loneliness, sadness, fear, resilience and hope. I liked that he kept on trying to escape but that when he couldn't, he still kept the memories of his family and tribe alive by drawing them. I liked that he didn't just give up even though they cut his hair, made him wear the things that they did and took away things that he naturally wore. They also made him believe in their idea of god and speak English.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8688868131360522025.post-66042155705177168542016-11-30T18:08:31.318-08:002016-11-30T18:08:31.318-08:00Cheyenne Again is a story about a boy that didn...Cheyenne Again is a story about a boy that didn't get treated equally. I think one of the themes is loss because hi was taken from his coulter. Another theme was loneliness because he didn't have his brothers or sisters with him. Sadness was a theme because he was forced to learn a different coulter. One last theme is heartbreaking because they forced him to listen to lies and not truth. When they took them they tried to make them like themselves. One thing I read was when one of his teachers said "stop dreaming and work, do you want to be a dumb indian all your life?" I think the theme was heartbreaking. I think one of the themes is heart breaking like when that lady said " You want to be a dumb indian all your life?" that was really really harsh. He started to loose hope in things and believe in lies that they told him, he had determination and destiny, desire his goal was to return to his normal village with other natives. Though he used passion and hope and sometimes failed but kept trying. Memories in his mind started to float and he felt homesick but he finally reached a goal that may seem impossible but is actually something not too challenging if you just keep trying and believe in destiny.😄Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8688868131360522025.post-23127551701183965892016-11-30T16:40:14.173-08:002016-11-30T16:40:14.173-08:00One of the themes was sadness. He had to go to boarding school and he was mad because they cut his braids. And he was also mad because they chained a metal ball to his leg because he ran away. Another theme is loss because he never got to see his parents again. 😭Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8688868131360522025.post-73166327379851109112016-11-30T16:12:45.920-08:002016-11-30T16:12:45.920-08:00One of the themes are taking away. He was ten years old when he was taken. One thing that I read about was that the boarding school said you will speak no more about Cheyenne. Another thing they said is you will speak english.
